Anxiety Coaching vs Clinical Therapy
The main difference between coaching and clinical therapeutic interventions is that a therapist is seen as the expert who recommends tools that will provide help for a client’s specific issues. However, a coach focuses on guiding their clients to open up new possibilities and be motivated to engage in change. Another difference involves what your clients choose to reflect on in order to combat anxiety. Therapy often looks at questions that come up because of past experiences and trauma. Coaching aims to help clients access new viewpoints that will help them improve their future and look forward by achieving their goals.
How can an Anxiety Coach Help?
You may be wondering how “talking about it” can help with depression or anxiety. Coaching alone can be very effective in treating both these issues. A Life Coach can help you recognize un-productive thinking patterns, provide perspective, and coping strategies that you may not be able to achieve on your own. I utilize personal-based treatments designed for you as well as providing resources (books, articles, videos) to supplement your therapeutic work with me as your coach. The ability to cope with feelings of anxiety and worry is a unique experience for every individual with these emotions. However, the main goal in treating anxiety is to learn how to achieve a more stable sense of self. Coaching aims to facilitate a shift in an individual’s perception by encouraging them to engage in self-improvement. Since coaching focuses on goal setting and shifting individual viewpoints, it is seen as an effective tool in helping some individuals combat anxiety.
There Is Hope
At 23 years I began having debilitation panic attacks and was quickly diagnosed with Agoraphobia, I was told, "I would have to live with anxiety for the rest of my life" that was not true! I have experienced a changed life and know that a specialized coaching program can change your life too!
Just because you're functional and successful, doesn't mean you're thriving.
Living with anxiety can be incredibly draining and isolating. It’s like carrying a storm within—a deep gnawing that churns even on the calmest days. Struggling to establish healthy boundaries or assertively decline requests, you find yourself perpetually concerned about how others perceive you, fearing their disapproval. The burden of relentless, overwhelming worry never seems to ease, leaving you irritable and on edge. Even toward loved ones, you sometimes harbor resentment, though you know it’s not fair. Does your mind conjures up worst-case scenarios, and insomnia becomes an unwelcome companion? Food loses its usual appeal, and relaxation feels elusive—like chasing a butterfly that's just out of reach. Remember, seeking support and understanding can be a lifeline in the storm of anxiety.

I Get It, I've Been There
As a wife, and mother of 2 young children I felt the pressure of working while furthering my education and career and trying to do it all and do the best job I could. I wanted to be the best at everything I did. The best mom, employee, friend and because of this everything felt urgent, important and overwhelming. I began having debilitating panic attacks which limited where I went and what I was doing. I didn't have the understanding or skills to cope with anxiety and I had to learn to prioritize my emotional health. I had to take the time and do all the hard work to stop anxiety from impacting my future self. I made a choice to change and I hope you do too! Anxiety does not have to be your life sentence. As your Coach, I get it, I've been there and I changed!
